Richard Hemans

Richard is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Director. Since 2013, Richard has been the Group Finance Director and Company Secretary of Blue Diamond, the UK’s second largest garden centre group with a turnover of £250m, prior to which he was Finance Director at Guernsey Post for five years.  

Richard has significant experience in strategic planning, acquisitions, investment appraisal, performance management, equity and debt funding, corporate governance and stakeholder management. 

Richard joined the IoD Guernsey committee as part of our efforts to broaden further the sectors and industries that are represented at this level. His experience provides the committee with a different insight into what is needed to support Guernsey businesses and he will act as our lead on Economic-related lobbying, as well as sitting on the Tax and Regulation sub-committee.
