For the first time, representatives from Guernsey International Business Association, Hospitality Association, Construction Forum, Institute of Directors, Guernsey Retail Group, Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Guernsey Industry, and the Association of Guernsey Charities have united to identify the most pressing issues and collaborate on driving meaningful change.
As leading organisations in Guernsey, this coalition has committed to working together to drive positive change for the community.
"Collaboration is key, and by pooling our expertise and resources, we can achieve so much more," the group stated.
"We aim to identify the challenges and opportunities that matter most to our community. This feedback will guide our collective efforts to support and advocate for the success of local businesses in Guernsey."
A key outcome of initialdiscussions was unanimous agreement that the island’s housing crisis is a critical issue impacting the broader economy. From skill shortages to workforce development, addressing housing challenges is vital for sustaining Guernsey’s economic health and long-term growth.
To gather essential insights from the business community, these organisations will distribute a shared survey to their members. This survey aims to identify the most pressing policy priorities for government action and will also serve to educate potential candidates running in the 2025 general election about the critical issues shaping Guernsey’s future.
This joint initiative presents a crucial opportunity to ensure that the voices and needs of Guernsey's business and charity sector are clearly understood and addressed by the incoming government.
The survey will focus on feedback reflecting the government’s current term, providing valuable data for our community. The survey will open on Monday 20th January and will close Friday 31st January.
You can complete the survey here.
