Commenting on his appointment, Glen said: ‘I would like to thank our outgoing Chair Wendy Dorey for the tremendous work she has done over her term. During her tenure, she introduced several new initiatives, and she leaves the local branch in excellent shape.
‘I look forward to continuing the IoD’s work, helping our business community to flourish and ensuring local leaders benefit from their IoD membership. We believe that better directors build better businesses. Our core purpose of Connect, Develop and Influence will continue to be our framework to grow our branch and support our members.’
The IoD committee meet monthly to discuss business issues, share members’ views and organise an ongoing schedule of business seminars and networking events to support local business leaders. The IoD also supports the next generation of leaders through its NextGen and Future Leaders initiatives.
Wendy Dorey, the outgoing Chair of the IoD Guernsey, said: ‘It has been a pleasure to serve as Chair of the IoD Guernsey branch over the past few years. Director development has been at the heart of our activities – and I’m delighted that, through our close partnership with the GTA, we’ve seen record numbers of local directors sit, and pass, the Certificate and Diploma exams. I wish Glen all the best as incoming Chair and look forward to seeing what he brings to the role.’
