The IoD Guernsey Branch's September breakfast webinar, sponsored by Butterfield, explored the theory and practice of conscious capitalism.
The webinar, which took place during Guernsey Finance’s Sustainable Finance Week, hosted Ravi Rai, an SME impact investor of Four Points Consulting Ltd, Robert Hayward of GoodFX, Jessica Regnard of Aspida Group and Justin Sykes of Innovest Advisory. The talk began with looking at what it takes to be a sustainable company and what it entails, understanding the environmental, economic and social targets each business should be setting.
After an initial keynote by Ravi, he led a panel discussion with the speakers to look at the context of sustainability in business and the premium benefits of running a business sustainably, from brand and reputation to capital access and market valuation.
Concluding on what it takes to be a conscious business, the speakers looked at the immediate steps that can be taken to transition into a more sustainable company, their experiences on B Corp process,
