At the October breakfast, Dr Andy Sloanshared his insights on the development of the financial services strategy, ahead of the Committee for Economic Development’s formal publication of the policy framework for the finance sector expected later in November, and also shared his thoughts on positioning the island as a provider of specialist financial services.
Andy is responsible for the development of jurisdiction-wide financial services strategy, having joined Guernsey Finance permanently on August 1st, 2018, following a six-month part-time secondment from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission where he was Director of Financial Stability and International Policy Advisor.
He was previously GIBA’s first technical advisor and before this was States Economist and Head of Policy & Research.
Andy is a member of States’ advisory groups on international tax policy and Brexit and is a member of the CityUK’s IRSG’s regulatory coherence working group and the BVCA’s Channel Islands Policy Group. Andy has a PhD in Macroeconomics and is a member of the Institute of Directors and Institute of Risk.
