The Guernsey branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) has launched a survey to gather feedback from members and business leaders on which issues they feel are most important for election candidates to consider.
Ahead of the States election in October, the IoD hopes that businesses’ needs are part of the conversation as candidates assemble their manifestos, the electorate considers their options and the next States start the new term.
John Clacy, IoD Guernsey Chair, said: “Guernsey has some real challenges ahead. We will be looking to the next group of Deputies to deliver on the Revive and Thrive Strategy and build back the economy to pre Covid-19 levels, tackle the pressing issue of climate change, find the island’s role in a post-Brexit Europe and get on top of problems presented by a skills gap and the ageing population. We want to ensure our members views are represented and prioritsed as the new States comes together.”
The survey will only take a few minutes to complete. The responses will be discussed at the IoD’s mid-term breakfast next month and provide the insight needed to focus the association’s energy on issues that matter to members and contribute to lobby areas of interest locally once the next States starts its new term.
IoD members can complete the short survey here.
