The IoD Guernsey Branch’s January breakfast webinar, sponsored by Skipton International, will take place on Friday 24 January, featuring Anna Leach, Chief Economist at the IoD, who will explore the latest UK economic outlook. Richard Hemans, IoD Guernsey’s lead on economics, will provide insights into how these trends impact Guernsey’s economy and local business leaders.
Anna Leach is the Chief Economist at the Institute of Directors, where she provides analysis and commentary on the UK economy to inform business leaders and policymakers. Before joining the IoD, Anna was Deputy Chief Economist at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), where she led the organisation’s economic intelligence and survey programmes.
Richard Hemans, IoD Guernsey’s lead on economic matters, will discuss the local economic implications of the UK outlook, focusing on trends and opportunities for the Bailiwick.
Glen Tonks, Chair of IoD Guernsey, said: ‘Results from the IoD’s second Directors' Economic Confidence Survey, released in November, showed that confidence in the local economy has dropped. The survey also reveals that respondents expect profits and investment to decrease against a backdrop of costs that continue to rise.
‘This webinar offers Guernsey’s leaders the opportunity to gain valuable economic insights from a national perspective while exploring how these trends relate to our island economy. Anna’s expertise, combined with Richard’s local analysis, will provide a balanced view for our business community.’
The webinar event will take place from 8am to 9am on Friday 24 January.
