
The IoD Guernsey Branch is hosting a practical and interactive workshop on Friday 4 April, bringing together business leaders to share their experiences of leading transformation projects in a fast-changing environment.
Titled ‘Leading Business Transformation: Practical Lessons (and Pitfalls!) To Drive Growth, Innovation & Culture Change’, the session will hear from Jane Niles, CEO of Investec Bank Channel Islands, and Alistair Beak, CEO of Sure. The speakers will share insightson how they have helped their organisations navigate change, drive innovation, and create long-term impact.
Attendees can expect real-world examples, a hands-on workshop format, and networking opportunities. Discussions will cover:
Crafting a visionary strategy and securing stakeholder buy-in
Balancing daily operations with long-term transformation
Changing mindsets in smaller markets and across jurisdictions
Boosting staff engagement, retention, and productivity
The role of new technologies in transformation
Driving real economic impact for Guernsey
The event will be highly interactive, featuring short presentations from the speakers, followed by table discussions where attendees will collaborate to develop their own transformation insights. The workshop will close with a group Q&A.

This workshop is the first event from the IoD’s Develop Sub-Committee in the new format, designed to bring fresh perspectives to the monthly breakfast series and engage a diverse audience. A key aim of the Develop Sub Committee in Guernsey is to support and promote good business governance, collaboration and great leadership.
The workshop, which is sponsored by Skipton International, will take place from 07:45 to 09:15 at Walkers, with places limited to 24 attendees. This is an IoD member-only event, with tickets priced at £10.
