Our speaker on Friday 14th October iwas Michael Byrne, Chief Executive of CICRA, the Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities.
Mr Byrne will spoke on telecommunications challenges and opportunities for an island economy and whether the past informs the future. He explained the relationship and interaction between CICRA and policymakers and their role in putting Guernsey in a sound position. Looking to the future, he outlined some potential scenarios. In addressing general challenges on connectivity Mr Byrne will touch on Guernsey’s current airline situation. Michael O’Higgins, CICRA’s new chairman, also attended the lunch meeting.
