The Institute of Directors Guernsey (IoD) is proud to support the inaugural Enterprise Awards and sponsor the Director of the Year category. The awards aim to project the energy and diversification of the commercial landscape in Guernsey and seek out the company and individual business success stories that demonstrate the breadth of enterprise on the island.
The IoD’s Director of the Year Award will recognise excellence in leadership, proven governance skills and the individual’s impact on the culture and success of their organisation.
The awards will culminate in an evening of celebration and aspiration in February 2020 which the organisers hope will become a prestigious event in Guernsey’s calendar.
The 2019 Island Enterprise Awards are comprised of six awards, each specific to a different aspect or attribute of a successful business:
Each award category will have an independent panel of judges, each of whom have specific skills and experience in their award category. The IoD will be drawing upon its committee and Chartered Directors to establish its categories and judging criteria which will reflect the IoD’s National Director Awards.
Criteria, entry forms and guidance notes will be available from Monday 2 September 2019. The shortlist will be announced at the end of November with final presentations to the judging panels in December and early January.
John Clacy, Chair of the IoD in Guernsey, said: ‘IoD Guernsey is delighted to support the inaugural Island Enterprise Awards. In late summer, we will be seeking nominations for candidates to be considered as the Director of the Year. We will be looking for directors who have demonstrably contributed to the development and success of their organisation, whether corporate, public or third sector, and to the island, across a broad spectrum of factors.’
